Volcanoes and wine
We begin at the striking Green Lagoon, head into Timanfaya National Park and its landscape of fire, and finish in La Geria, among vineyards unlike any others in the world. It is the most direct way to understand why Lanzarote looks like nowhere else.
A good fit if… It’s your first time on the island and you want its most iconic landscape in a morning.

THE ROUTE
Stop by stop
Stop 01El Charco Verde · El Golfo
An emerald lagoon inside an ancient crater beside the sea. Its colour comes from ocean water filtering through the rock and from unusual algae, set against black sand and reddish cliffs.
About this place →
Stop 02Parque Nacional de Timanfaya
A national park since 1974 and the only one on the island. A desert of craters, lava flows and unlikely colours, with geothermal demonstrations at Islote de Hilario that reveal the heat still held beneath the ground.
About this place →
Stop 03La Geria
Vineyards born from the eighteenth-century eruptions: each vine grows in a hollow of volcanic ash sheltered by a stone wall. This is the home of Lanzarote’s volcanic Malvasía.
