Fundación César Manrique: What to see and how to visit it in Lanzarote
César Manrique Foundation in Tahíche: the house the artist built over volcanic bubbles, now a museum of his work.
The house Manrique built on a lava flow, with rooms set inside volcanic bubbles. Today it shows his work, his environmental commitment and his way of joining art and landscape.
Manrique built his house in Tahíche on a lava flow, using five volcanic bubbles as rooms linked by tunnels. Above, a white house inspired by traditional architecture; below, rooms carved into the rock. Today it is home to his foundation and displays his work, his collection and his fight to protect Lanzarote’s landscape.
Entrance fees to tourist centres are not included in the tours; opening times and prices depend on each centre.
