Lanzarote’s former capital: cobbled streets, stately houses, churches and convents that hold centuries of history. It belongs to the “Most Beautiful Villages in Spain” network.

It was the island’s capital until the mid-19th century and keeps cobbled streets, churches, convents and mansions from the 15th to the 18th centuries. On the Guanapay volcano, Santa Bárbara castle recalls centuries of pirate raids. On Sundays it fills up with one of the best-known markets in the Canary Islands.

Entrance fees to tourist centres are not included in the tours; opening times and prices depend on each centre.
