Monumento al Campesino: What to see and how to visit it in Lanzarote
Monumento al Campesino in central Lanzarote: César Manrique’s tribute to the island’s farmers, with a house museum and Canarian food.
At the island’s geographic centre, a tribute to the farmers and craftspeople who made Lanzarote liveable. Essential for understanding its traditions and culture.
César Manrique wanted to honour the people who made a lava-covered island liveable. The white sculpture, made from old ships’ water tanks, stands beside a house that recreates traditional architecture, with craft workshops and a Canarian restaurant. It sits at the geographical centre of Lanzarote, close to La Geria.
Entrance fees to tourist centres are not included in the tours; opening times and prices depend on each centre.
